Today, the Taung Cultural Calabash (TCC) stakeholder engagements kicked off at the Taung Center. The event was attended by esteemed speakers, including Mr. S Matane, the Acting Regional Director, Ms. P Mpahlwa, CFO, Mr. P Malatsi, and our very own CEO, Mr. W Morweng. It marked the first of many engagements that our entity will have with stakeholders.

During the meeting, the artists present were addressed, and the TCC's exciting plans were unveiled. The TCC will feature two main programs:

Programme 1-🎭 Auditions and Main Competition : 22 & 29 July, 5 & 12 August 2023, auditions will be held in various districts across the North West province. This will provide a platform for talented artists to showcase their skills and creativity. Final competition date to be communicated in due course: Proposed date : 02 September 2023.

🌟 TCC Main Festival: Proposed dates for the Main Festival;

23-25 September 2023. These festivities will encompass a range of exciting events, including a Kgotla event, music festival, lifestyle market, and theatre productions. The aim is to create a vibrant and inclusive celebration of arts, culture, and creativity. The Main Festival is going to be outsourced to a Service Privider over a 3 yr period effective from 2023.

During the stakeholder engagement, artists had the opportunity to voice their concerns and provide valuable advice regarding the festival plan presented. MACSF management is actively listening and taking these inputs into consideration.

To ensure effective collaboration and inclusivity, a TCC committee comprising relevant stakeholders will be formed. This committee will play a pivotal role in shaping and organizing the festival, making it a truly collective effort.

We are thrilled to witness the North West creative sector come together to celebrate the TCC festival once again in Taung this September. Stay tuned for more updates, and let's prepare for an unforgettable showcase of talent, diversity, and the rich cultural heritage of our Province.

NB dates might change however that is the proposed plan.
